Colors: white, charcoal, desert tan, ice blue
Dimensions: 17 x 30 x 18 inches (43.2 x 76.2 x 46 cm)
Weight: 29 lbs (13.2 kg)

Why Should You Consider this Ice Cooler?

Yeti coolers are top of the line. You will not find a better cooler. These are meant to last a lifetime. If you want to buy and forget about the problem, then Yeti is the way to go. There are only two downsides to this cooler and one of them really is not a downside, the cost and weight. When it comes to the former, you know you are paying a pretty penny. That is the price you pay for the best of the best. When it comes to weight though, it can be difficult to lift this cooler if you are under 100 lbs, but the weight gives the cooler durability so it is difficult to find reason to complain.

The walls of the cooler are two inches thick! That is thicker than a snicker. You will keep your ice solid for days on end. Are you planning a multi-day fishing trip? Yeti has got you covered. Do you need to keep your dik dik meat cold? Yeti has got your back. Throw this cooler to the lions to tear up, go ahead. The rotomolded construction means this cooler can take a pounding and still hold its own.

In the walls of this cooler, you can find pressure-injected commercial-grade polyurethane foam. In other words, your ice stays ice. It is not going to be turning to water any time soon.

On Amazon, it has 4.3 stars out of over 250 customer reviews. If you have a question, someone will be sure to answer it and tell you about their experience. In addition to what you read here, they will vet the cooler for you.

Why Should You Consider this Ice Cooler?

These coolers deliver similar construction as the yeti coolers and save your wallet a chunk of change. You can stand, sit, or jump on this cooler without seeing a bend in the top cover. Yeti realized the demand for a high quality cooler. Frosty is jumping in on the action at a lower price.

The molding is quite high quality, but Yeti takes it a step further. You still get a high quality cooler though. Regardless though, you get a durable, sturdy, and affordable cooler to take with you on all your outdoor adventures. Your ice will be sure to stay solid for days on end.

The T-shaped rubber locks latch down the top to seal your cooler and keep the chilled air inside. Everyone likes a cold beer, so this cooler keeps them nice and crisp for your parched taste buds. Your beer will stay nice and frosty for you to sip on after a long day.

  1. I do a lot of camping and coolers are very important. You have a good list here. I’m currently looking into getting a mini fridge cooler that runs off DC for my RV. The old propane fridge broke! So I’ve been using a regular cooler for now.

I dig the site, keep it up.

    1. It is good to know you camp Lance. That is what this site is here for. Coolers form a critical part of the experience. I appreciate the compliment on the article. I am sorry to hear about your propane fridge. That is a bummer.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  2. Great article on the best coolers out there. I like sites like this that get all the information I need in one spot. It helps to narrow down all the garbage products on the market these days and there are a lot of them.

Your use of large images is excellent especially for those who have a hard time seeing close up and those who have been squinting at the screen all day long.

    1. I appreciate the compliment on the article and the site Cory. You should find everything you need right here in this article.

  3. I haven’t been camping for years, don’t even remember when was the last time… Likewise, I haven’t laid my hands on an ice cooler for ages. All of the items you presented look awesome.

I think I have my eye on Coleman 33, but maybe not…Because the YETI Hopper Flip is just as nice in my opinion! Some help would be really appreciated. Which one do you think I should go for?

Great article, I really enjoyed it!

    1. It is good to know you enjoyed the article Boby.

You are right that it can be difficult to make a decision between the Coleman 33 and Yeti Hopper Flip. If you are on a budget like me, then I suggest you go with the former. You would be surprised how long ‘cheap’ models can last you. If you can afford otherwise, then go with the latter. It is a guaranteed cooler in my book. I hope this helps you.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  4. Hey!

I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to own a garbage cooler.

Once or twice a summer my friends and I go to a cabin for the weekend and the biggest issue is that we need ice at least once a day because it all melts. This is so inconvenient because if it’s midday, none of us are capable of driving because I mean come on, it’s a weekend at the cabin.

I tried the yeti cooler and I was absolutely blown away. The ice stayed for two days and was undeniably the best cooler I have used to this date. I highly recommend going Yeti!

    Russell

    1. You are right that garbage coolers are not fun. It is just too much hassle when you are trying to have a good time with friends.

Yeti coolers are the way to go Russell. If you want a cooler for life, then they will be sure to work well into your golden years. When I am better off down the road, I plan to get one too. You can trust a Yeti cooler. They are splendid companion through all of your adventures.

    1. It is good to know you are looking at the Coleman. It is a splendid cooler if you are on a budget Furkan.

You raise a good point on Coleman coolers. I did not explain the materials that Coleman uses to make their coolers. According to Coleman, their coolers are made of future friendly foam insulation. You will not find CFCs, HFCs, or HCFCs in their coolers. They are environmentally friendly. I hope this answers your concerns.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  7. Wow! Such an informative post on coolers. I love to hike, camp, and travel and I can never seem to find the right cooler for me with out breaking the bank! I have always wanted a Yeti as I have their mugs that keep everything either steaming warm or icy cool, but they are way to expensive for my budget.

What would you choose if you did not want to break the bank, while still getting a great cooler.

    1. It is good to hear you enjoyed the article Katie. It can be difficult to make a decision with coolers. There are quite a lot to choose from.

I appreciate your question. If I had to choose a cooler, I would go with one of the Coleman coolers. Since I am at university right now and on a budget, I cannot spend too much money. Down the road I plan to get a Yeti, but that is a long ways off for the time being.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  8. I also go to a college and really need an affordable cooler. I would love to carry beers with it but I can’t find this brand in my town where I don’t have any online shopping opportunities. Can you recommend a similar one?

    1. I am glad to hear you also go to college like me. It is always good to have a cooler around for those house parties and kickbacks.

I would love to recommend you a cooler, but I do not know what brand you are referring to. If you could tell me, then I would be more willing to help you.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  9. Great list of coolers. I was looking for one for our neighborhood. I’m going to get the Igloo Ice Cube Roller Cooler, because my needs are more about walking to happy hour at one of my neighbor’s houses with cold drinks rather than company – seriously. But for camping, I have the Coleman Steel-Belted as it’s tough. I like having the metal enclosure. Thanks for the review, great list.

    1. I appreciate the compliment Cornelius. I am glad to hear you are going camping soon. You will be sure to need a ice cooler if you are going for a few days or so.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

  14. Hey Alex, thanks for this post. Great info. It reminds me how much I miss camping and the wilderness. My family and I used to camp at Kings Canyon every summer. We would pack up the big cooler and all the gear and head out to be off the grid for a few days. Nothing better. I love your description of each of the coolers.

At Kings Canyon, like many other places I’m sure, they’re real strict about using the bear lockers. Does the YETI Tundra 65 Cooler fit into a standard bear locker? Should you by mistake leave it out, is it bear proof? Those bears are so darned smart that if they want to they’ll tear a car apart to get to something. Just curious. Thanks,

    Dina:)

    1. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the article. Whenever I look at these coolers, it reminds me of camping too. I appreciate the compliment on the descriptions Dina.

The standard bear locker is about 35″ deep x 43″ wide x 28″ tall and the YETI Tundra 65 Cooler is 17″ x 30″ x 18″, so it will fit. If you do leave this cooler outside though, the yeti will be able to handle the bears just fine. It is bear proof and tested. You will need some bear proof padlocks to go along with the cooler though. To the right and to the left of rubber latches, you can find a hole where a padlock would go through.

Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!
